The Street Trees of Stretford by Severine Cochard celebrates 10 notable trees across the town, each with its own character, story and place in Stretford.
Stretford Street Warming Party | Saturday 23rd August 11am - 6pm
A huge summer ‘street warming’ party will be taking over Stretford town centre on Saturday 23 August, to celebrate the completion of King Street - the first phase of the wider Stretford town centre masterplan.
The party will celebrate the reopening of the street allowing the community to walk down an open-air King Street for the first time in over 60 years.
The event marks a major milestone in Stretford’s regeneration journey, with a range of new retailers and businesses set to move into the freshly finished King Street units in the coming months.
The celebration will give the community a first glimpse of the transformed street and the newly created Sir Tony Lloyd Square, spaces designed for everyone to explore, relax and connect.
The party will begin at 11am in true Stretford style with town crier Andy Simpkins, who will deliver the official heralding to mark the occasion. From 12pm to 6pm, the street warming will offer guests a fun-filled day of live music, activities, and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Expect everything from pop-up stalls and raffles from the likes of Stretford in Bloom, and a whole host of local food and drinks traders such as Beatties Bakery, Head Bar and Gigis.
Local non-for-profit sound collective, Amplify, will also be delivering an exciting programme of entertainment, DJs, bands including Sale Brass Band and more from the community with all profits from the day going to Trafford Food Bank.
