GRUB Stretford Offically Opens This Weekend
GRUB Stretford will officially open its doors on Saturday 20 June from 12pm, bringing a brand-new independent food, drink and events destination to the heart of Stretford town centre.
2025 is set to be a milestone year for Stretford, with the first phase of the town’s redevelopment due to complete this summer. King Street is being transformed into a vibrant destination, welcoming a mix of new and returning retailers. At its heart will be a vibrant public square, thoughtfully designed to host community events and provide a welcoming space to meet, relax and enjoy.
Here is an update of the works that have taken place since our last development update at the end of last year.
New shopfronts for King Street:

King Street is taking shape ahead of its grand opening later this year. The removal of the roof has transformed the space, creating an open and connected streetscape.
New shop units in a variety of sizes are taking shape, designed to cater to a diverse mix of businesses. The progress on brickwork and blockwork is bringing the stylish new shopfronts to life, with large glazed facades lining King Street and Pinnington Lane.
As soon as the retail units are complete, the keys will be handed over to the retailers to begin the exciting next step of completing their unique shop fit-outs.
Once open, King Street will become the vibrant heart of the town centre. A hub for retail and services, it will be the go-to destination for catching up over coffee, booking an eye test, finding the perfect birthday card or treating yourself to a new pair of shoes.
New roofing milestone:

Roofing works are underway for a new first-floor space on King Street, designed to accommodate service-led retailers - your go-to for a nail appointment or haircut!
Accessible directly from the high street via stairs or a lift, this space will be bright and welcoming, thanks to a domed glass roof that floods the area with natural light.
Home Bargains transformation:

Home Bargains’ brand-new shopfront on Pinnington Lane is almost complete in anticipation of exciting enhancements coming this February! Big changes are on the horizon as Home Bargains prepares for a full store transformation, closing its doors on Saturday 15th February for an impressive six-week internal re-fit. Get ready for a fresh new look!
Multi storey car park (MSCP) upgrades:

The MSCP is undergoing an exciting transformation! Highlights include a new, more efficient internal ramp entrance, upgraded lighting and security and a bold, eye-catching yellow render on the stair tower to act as a beacon for the town. Work is already underway, with the first-floor resurfacing creating a smoother, more durable finish. The all-new MSCP is set to reopen late-summer so get ready for a brighter, better parking experience!
GRUB Stretford will officially open its doors on Saturday 20 June from 12pm, bringing a brand-new independent food, drink and events destination to the heart of Stretford town centre.
