WHY RHUBARB?
Stretford was once known as “the Garden of Lancashire”, celebrated for its rich agricultural heritage. One of its most famous exports? Rhubarb, which was affectionately nicknamed “Stretford Beef” by locals.
Our Rooting for Stretford campaign draws on this proud history, using rhubarb as a bold and playful symbol of regeneration, growth, and local pride. Just like the vegetable that once put Stretford on the map, we're championing a vibrant, thriving future for the town.

Rooting for Stretford will be cropping up all over town, and you won't want to miss it.
